Tri6 Week 6

Had a bit of hic up this week, I lost my hard drive containing all my work from the last 2 years on including Major Project work. Luckily i left it at uni and someone kind people out there handing it in to reception.

Week6 Milestone presentations were due this week and were on schedule getting everything we planned to do by now done in time.
Animation
Hai and myself got all animation up to spline and compiled it into the most recent 3D animatic. I also finshed newly added shot4B (running sequence) and had that added to the animatic. This new animatic has a much better sense of timing than the blocked out version and the added running sequence makes more sense to the overall animation.

Environment
Jimmy has continued work on the opening environment and the end environment. both at close to completion at around 80 - 90% done and just need so minor tweaks. Once animations are complete they will be imported to his environment and lighting adjusted then its set to rendering.

We have also discussed and made plans for sound/music, recording of character voices, composting prep and title/credit designs

Tri6 Week5

This week we had our scheduled meeting on Tuesday and Friday and review work up to date. Both Hai and myself look ready to get our shots to spline by Friday week6 milestone presentation.

Shot 4B was added by myself, a running sequence to help the viewer understand distance has been travelling before they get to the egg.

Jimmy was unable to attend friday meeting due to internship commitments but Hai and myself discussed additional work to be done beyond animating. Such as sound/music effects, compositing pipeline, titles/credits and a revised schedule for the last 6 weeks.

Tri6 Week4

For week four Hai and Myself continued working on all the animation, we are aiming to get all shots to spline by milestone due in Week 6. Jimmy continues with shot 1 and the close up shot of the egg.

Andrew Silke (animator from animal logic) came in to look at our work. He gave us some positive feedback and helped me out with some of my animations. Suggesting some more expressive poses and giving them a more cartoony feel using a technique which he called "ramping". Where for example in my run cycle keeping the over all timing of the cycle the same but changing the spacing of the frames within. To emphasis a light characters run he should appear in the air longer than on the ground. by bunching up the keys when he is on the ground and spreading out the keys when he is in the air it gives this impression. Of course this only really works with cartoony styles.

Tri6 Week3

week 3 progress presentation were due on Friday,

3D Animatic
we prepared a 3d animatic with all shots blocked out, this gave us a sense of timing and allowed us to see if it made sense. We may need to add a vew more shots and hold some scenes at the moment its far too quick and hard to register everything that happens.

Shot 1A Leaf animation
jimmy also did some plant animation in the opening shot1A, he made a playblast of it (rendeering would take to long before friday when presentations were due).
